UPDATE COMPLETE
This week Frost fire is coming. I have been asked often to make a simple Guide with how to score well. Be it F2p or Whale, this guide should help you out!
Below are some pictures, about which skills I am choosing. I will have updated pictures of the in game tree posted in the near future; along with my last FF event(the next event Ill record). We will cover from the start, to the end. Along with how to manipulate your skills to score you the most you can get. Skills generate most of my points. Off we go!
BEFORE BATTLE: Buffs and Marches recalled.
As the opening statement reads. Make sure you have your buffs active (Pets and Gem buffs **Presidential Appointment Buffs DONT WORK HERE**)
I tend to use blue gem buffs I have stacked up here. I don't use them anywhere else really. Good time to use them. I will also gem out my Rally Cap for the event. With the 2 hours buff.
Finding your spot in the countdown phase, what to look for:
When you are brought into the map, you have many minutes to look around and I urge you to do so. Know your place. Where you want to go. What I look for is 3 to 4 mines, all bunched together. Level 2 or 3 are good to look for. If you are a lower tier player, just find you a few level 2s near each other. These will pop up all over the map. While looking for mines, the other, equally important thing is to look for Mercs/Guards. These are going to be our focus early on. As much as we want these mines, these mercs are our life blood to points and smooth ride to the top of the leaderboard. A great opening scene to me, would be finding a cluster of mines (3 to 4) and around 4 to 7 mercs with in a decent distance to your Castle. Ensure your castle is teleported next to a mine that it is TOUCHING. Ill explain why you want one mine touching your castle later. That is what I'm looking for during the countdown.
SKILLS.TO OBTAIN, DESCRIPTION AND WHY
Before I get into the battle, its wise to know what your skills will be. You must be quick to upgrade and quick to return to the battle screen. Time in this screen only means you aren't focused on the battle. Your points will suffer. Here is the graphic. The Colored tabs show MY preference. Those who have been with me a while know how well I score every time. 1st place is very common.

- Level 1 skill - Right skill DEFEAT PATROL for 1500 Units of Orichalcum
- Level 2 skill - Right skill Increase march speed by 25%
- Level 3 skill - Left Skill Obtain 5000 units of Orichalmcum when you occupy a common vein(mine)
- Level 4 skill - Left skill increases Orichalmcum gathering efficiency by 15% when in a vein(mine AND FRACTURES/FISSURES)
- Level 5 skill - Right Troops gathering speed increased by 50 for 60 seconds (only newly deployed troops during buff)
So here are our choices. I have chosen Level 1 kill patrol for 1500 units. ALL GAME LONG, we try to have a march open for troops. Explained better in the war section below.
Skill 2, march speed over troop increase. Getting to our key buildings and Patrols to kill are more important and will play into not really attacking as much as you would think. So this is the obvious choice for me
Skill 3, taking over a mine/vein gives you 5k currency. We do this, because almost every 30 seconds, im touching the 2 closest mines to me, and recalling them and sending them right back out to the same place. After you recall, its empty but it counts for an easy 5k. I do two recalls because it does get tough to keep a perfect 1 minute timer. I find pulling 2 back in a stagger method allows me to not miss my 1 minute 5k timer that often. This is a key to my winning. By staggering, Ill recall vein 1, it comes home, I send it back, around 20 to 30 seconds later, Ill do the other one, and repeat until fissures are about to spawn.
Skill 4, I chose the gathering node. This one will have us collect 15% faster. While we are constantly recalling and sending back out each minute, these %'s add up. Its also nice when the 3 phases of fissures pop up. It helps us kill the fissure quicker and get on to the next one.
Skill 5, I have yet to go for the center, ever. So the damage buff isn't appealing to me. I like the gathering speed boost. I use this skill on fissures, and around the last 2 minutes of the game as well. It really kicks in the extra currency at the end!
WAR phase, how to move, score and more
Keeping in mind some simple points here before we go into the final lesson. POINTS
A level 2 mine gives us 16 currency a second
A level 3 gives 32!
a vein outburst gives us 200 per second! VEINS ARE A MUST
Killing a patrol/guard/merc gives us 1500 currency in one blow, and levels our skill tree! (Equal to about 45 seconds of farming a level 3, EACH KILL)
Lets get to the final lesson:
You have searched for your spot. You have remembered the simple tech tree. RIGHT RIGHT LEFT LEFT RIGHT. From here the countdown hits. If you're anything like me, your heart is racing, mind is spinning and chaos starts to seep into your thinking patterns. Remember to breathe and tell yourself: "No matter what you run into, you can tele to another safe spot, in less than 30 seconds." Use this. Remember this. If a big boy/girl comes near you and starts to undo your work, its okay to flee! Take a moment to find a new spot and go!
The round starts I teleport to my spot. I send out for our patrols first! Get them killed and get points ASAP! Send out as many as you see! Use march speed ups if you have them! Get there FIRST(if you see another person on the way). As patrols start to die off, stay scrolling and looking for them AFTER you place yourself into those mines near you. WATCH FOR THE POP, here comes 3 goodies. WHEN A VEIN IS FIRST HIT, LOOT DROPS. ALWAYS LOOT THE BOXES. NEVER forget to LOOT THE BOXES.
Soon you will have skill 1, this will give you currency when the patrols/guards die. If patrols aren't spawned, I keep my final march for them. If more than one pops up, ill remove my closest vein, touching my castle and send them off to the patrol. Then i take my farthest vein, recall back and put the first march that hits my castle, back into that touching mine/vein. If no more patrols near, i send them back out to gather. Its a game of constantly moving your chess pieces here. Feel free to pull rallies back, and place them where you need them. You're only missing a few seconds of time in veins. ITS OKAY!
The next skills start to come your way, increase movement speed and the third skill. KEEP THIS ONE IN YOUR BRAIN, when it unlocks, the FIRST SKILL ON THE LEFT. You now have a 1 minute timer in your head. I like to remove a vein gathering team every 30 seconds or so. And send them RIGHT BACK INTO THE SAME VEIN. easy 5,000 currency. Keep that going!
Patrols seem to spawn in waves, so if they start to die off and aren't coming around for a moment, send off the final march to another vein, if a patrol pops up, take your nearest vein and recall, and send off to that patrol for the kill. (should be easy by now, as you'll have returning troops every 30 seconds or so.
Next come the fissures! when there is 25 to 30 seconds until the first wave opens, GET ALL YOUR MARCHES BACK! So when they pop, you can send out all 6! During this time Patrols LOVE to pop again and plentiful. Be sure to use a rally or two to get those patrols killed!
After the 3 phases of fissures, you will go back to your routine. 5 veins/mines farming, recalling nearest ones every 30 seconds or so. To make sure you hit that one minute mark. Hopefully by now, you'll have unlocked the final perk. This PERK IS SAVED FOR THE NEXT FISSURES. Use this perk on FISSURES ONLY and the final 1 to 2 Minutes of the game for final push. Remember this buff only increases speed if the vein is marched upon with the buff active. So for the fissures it's easy. The last 2 minutes, no fissures. Do a mass recall. get everyone home, POP skill and send all out.
Final tips, if you see a patrol, always recall a close vein and go kill that guard. Pull farthest vein to replace the close vein. If your veins reset and disappear from touching your castle; and they aren't that close anymore, teleport NEAR BY still, same area, but touch a vein or two again. Those marches NEED to be fast and close to make you able to adjust your marches on the fly as needed.
I haven't proof read this or double checked it. If anyone sees an error in words, if it doesn't make sense somewhere, please DM me. I want to make sure this is crystal clear for all. Also, this is just how I do it. There is no right or wrong way. There are a million guides and everyone plays there way. This is just a guide for all the people who have asked me to tell them how I score so high every single time. Use what you like, drop what you don't. Do what works for you!
Good luck out there this week! Go get those leaderboards M90!
Below is a Frostfire event of mine, you can watch to get an idea if youd like. No audio or editing yet. That's coming. For now it's just the video reflecting the strategy from above.
